This past Sunday (January 17, 2010) I was home, making my bed. It’s mundane moments such as this when I will sometimes pose a question to the Universe. The question on my mind concerned my path forward with Reiki. I had completed my Level 3 training, becoming a Reiki Master-Practitioner at the end of last year. I posed the question with a sense of wanting to know what was coming next. I even considered doing a Tarot card reading on the matter, but I had to get to church, as it was my Sunday to work in the bookstore.
I am working in the bookstore when my sensei (my term for my Reiki Master/Teacher; sensei is Japanese for “teacher,” and is meant with the deepest of respect) came into the space. We got to talking, and she asked me if I had read an e-mail she sent me recently. I did not. She said I needed to read it as it had information that might be important for me.
Well, I wasn’t going to leave it at that. I asked if she would give me a clue, some idea as to the nature of the e-mail. She then told me that she was going to be teaching classes for Reiki Master/Teachers and thought I might be interested. I was slightly surprised, and asked, “Do you think I’m ready? Do you think now is the time?” She said she thought I was ready, and for me to “sit with the idea” of becoming a Teacher.
Since then, I have not been able to think of anything else. I did get around to doing that Tarot card reading, and the cards echoed my sensei’s assessment.
It will be an interesting process, as I will be learning about myself as well as the aspects of teaching Reiki.
